Shonagh Home is a Weston A. Price chapter leader for Redmond, WA. Meetings are held at her home in Redmond on the second Thursday of each month, from 7pm till 9pm.
Weston Price meetings raise consumer awareness on a grass-roots level. We support our small, local farms and offer education around Wise Traditions in Food, Farming and the Healing Arts as outlined in Sally Fallon's book, Nourishing Traditions. Our mission is to provide a supportive, local community of people who enjoy nutrient-dense, properly prepared foods. Our meetings are lively and informative and filled with dynamic people who are motivated to heal themselves and stay vibrant. Sources for organic produce, pastured, grass-fed meats and raw dairy are discussed as well as participation in wholesale buying clubs which helps keep food costs down.
The Weston A. Price Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of nutrition pioneer, Dr. Weston A. Price, whose research determined the optimum characteristics of traditional diets. The Foundation is dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to the human diet through education, research and activism. It supports a number of movements that contribute to this objective. They include accurate nutrition instruction, organic and bio-dynamic farming, pasture-feeding of livestock, community supported farms, honest and informative labeling, prepared parenting and nurturing therapies.
