The Three Cauldrons of POETRY Course

An Inward Journey to Otherworld Connection
with Shonagh Home

“O Poets! Shamans of the word!
When will you
recover the trance-like rhythms, the subliminal imagery, the haunting sense of
possession, the power, inflection and enunciation to affect the vision?

Shamanize! Shamanize!”
~Birth of a Poet by William Everson

About this course by Instructor Shonagh Home

What are the Three Cauldrons?

“A cauldron traditionally rests on three legs, and the number three has tremendous significance in Celtic art and myth. As well, both the cauldron and the number three were highly symbolic to the poet initiates of old Ireland. There were three cauldrons of incubation that represented the stages of the bardic system of study. Coire Goiriath (Cauldron of Warming or Incubation), represented the incubation of the apprenticeship stage where basic knowledge and skills were learned. Coire Ermae (Cauldron of Motion), was where the poet took their accrued teachings, life experience and emotions and ‘stewed’ in the deepening of their understanding to where they could produce profoundly artistic and stirring works of poetry. The third cauldron was the Coire Sofhis ( Cauldron of Wisdom), which would be the equivalent of spiritual illumination. This cauldron incubated wisdom, prophecy, divination and all-knowing to where the poet emerged like a Taliesin or Amergin.” excerpted from Poetic Whispers by Shonagh Home

The Benefit of Activating & Cultivating the Three Inner Cauldrons

Through this process, we enter into relationship with the multi-dimensional aspects of Self and our connection to Otherworld Teachers and Guides. As well, we open ourselves to the mantic arts of poetic expression through various states of being.

The course consists of 12 modules that begin by exploring these powerful inner Cauldrons and how to activate them. The practice of Trance States is explored and established for access to the Otherworld, as is allyship with specific plants and trees, serving as a portal to the teaching spirits of Nature and as well, a path of respectful stewardship of our own physical body/vessel/cauldron. We will peek into the ancient seer poet practices of Imbas Forosna, which is the unveiling of what the poet seeks to know. Teinm Laegda, which means to crack open or gnaw at the pith or the poem, and Dichetul Do Chennaib, which speaks to the whorls on the fingers and their use in invocation, spells and psychometry.

Daily journaling enhances the inner dialogue of self with Spirit through automatic writing. An activating ritual and a series of questions will be given each week to move you deeper into the welcoming arms of the Otherworld Teachers.
